2. Overview
The Bachelor English Linguistics Program of the Department of English, International University, is designed to prepare students to meet the English needs of global education and professions. The program aims to provide students with adequate specific and practical knowledge in the fields of Language Teaching, English Linguistics and Translation - Interpreting. The program offers courses that allow students to learn professional ethics, adaptability, flexibility, communicative skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Students also learn how to work independently and collaboratively in academic and professional contexts. This program is constantly updated to develop and maintain very high quality and standards.


3. Specializations
Students can boost their professional knowledge and sharpen their career skills by specializing in one of the following:
3.1 Linguistics: Students are fully provided with the knowledge of the nature, functions, and development of language, advanced linguistic knowledge to prepare for higher study and research about language.
3.2 Language Teaching: Students are fully provided with the knowledge of the nature, functions, origins, and development of teaching approaches and methods, advanced pedagogical knowledge to apply the knowledge and information technology in language teaching.
3.3 Translation-Interpreting: Students are fully provided with fundamental theories of translation and interpretation. Students can identify and improve core knowledge, and apply various techniques and methods to translate written and spoken texts effectively.


4. Career opportunities

Upon graduation from the B.A.'s degree program in English Linguistics, students will be ready to work for professional fields, including:
• Government offices, publishing houses, or private companies with specifications in translation, interpretation, editing service, or tourism.
• Research institutions and universities, offices with specializations in English language and applied linguistics.
• High schools, language centers, private classes in companies and factories.
